I am Kaoru, a 5th grade student. These days, my friends are saying, “Your family is weird.”

My Mom is a lawyer as well as the breadwinner of our family. My Dad is stay- at-home dad and takes care of all the housework. My big sister – who is like the eldest son – was dumped by her boyfriend. My big brother – who is like the eldest sister – has his worries of not being able to split up with his girlfriend.

What’s bothering me now, is parents’ visiting day. I really want my Mom to come, but in the Kamon Family, it’s the tradition for Dad to participate. After thinking about it really hard, I threw away the notice.

A heartwarming home drama told from the perspective of 11-year-old Kaoru (Nagashima), who says his family is often called weird/unusual. It revolves around the lives of stay-at-home dad (Tamura), lawyer and breadwinner mother (Ito), tomboyish oldest daughter (Uchida) and oldest son (Tamayama).
